Working Principle:

✅Material Feeding
Wet fertilizer granules are fed into the rotary dryer through a hopper, usually via a belt conveyor or bucket elevator, at the higher end of the drum.
✅Rotary Drum Motion & Inclination
The drum is slightly inclined and rotates slowly, allowing the fertilizer material to travel from the upper to the lower end by gravity.
✅Hot Air or Heating Medium Flow
Hot air or a heating medium such as steam or flue gas is introduced into the drum. Depending on the design, it may enter from the feeding end (co-current flow) or the discharging end (counter-current flow).
✅Drying Process
As the drum rotates, the fertilizer granules tumble and roll, continuously exposed to the hot air. This contact facilitates the evaporation of surface and internal moisture from the granules.
✅Lifting Plates/Baffles
Strategically placed lifting plates inside the drum scoop up and cascade the material through the hot air stream, maximizing surface contact and improving the drying efficiency.
✅Material Discharge
The thoroughly dried fertilizer granules are discharged from the lower end of the drum for further processing or packaging.
✅Optional Cooling Stage
To enhance product stability, the dried granules can be passed through a separate rotary cooler to lower their temperature and prevent moisture reabsorption.
